Letter, 21 May 1861, "To my dear Children" in which Dantzler offers advice for the future should he not return, including recommendation that for marriage they select a woman "who is naturally smart ... who has been well educated ... "; and letter, 8 Sept. 1930, St. Matthews, S.C., from unidentified descendant to John B. Culbertson, Washington, D.C., including abstract of letter, 12 Aug. 1863, Battery Wagner, S.C., Thomas W. Dantzler to "Capt. W.F. Mance, AAG," reporting injury of O.M. Dantzler, who suffered a shot to the chest. Newspaper clippings featuring biographical sketches of Dantzler and Lawrence M. Keitt, written at time of a veterans reunion in Orangeburg, S.C.; and essay, published 13 Jue 1909, in "The Sunday News" [Charleston Evening Post], re duel between Dantzler and Lawrence M. Keitt, fought over the state line in North Carolina.
